Privacy
Browsing the atlas requires no account and sets no tracking cookies. DCRA stores personal information only when you choose to follow updates or send a submission, and only what is listed here.
Email updates
- What is stored: your email address, what you follow (a data center, a state, or all of DCRA, and which kinds of updates), and the dates you signed up, confirmed, and left.
- What is sent: one confirmation email, then only the updates you chose: status, permit, and regulatory changes the day they are published, and a Monday digest when something you follow changed. Nothing else, and your address is never shared or sold.
- Leaving: every email has a one-click unsubscribe link and a link to manage what you follow. Unsubscribing deletes your follows immediately and stops all email.
- Unconfirmed sign-ups receive nothing beyond the confirmation email.
- Who can see it: only the DCRA owner, in a private page that requires signing in.
Submissions
- A submission (verifying or disputing a value, or suggesting a data center) is reviewed by a person before anything on the site changes.
- Your summary and source link appear in a public review issue on GitHub. Do not include personal information in them.
- An uploaded document is stored privately for review and is not published. The optional follow-up email is stored privately and used only to ask about your submission.
Contributions
Voluntary contributions are processed by Stripe on its own pages. DCRA never sees card details. Stripe shares the contributor's name, email, and amount with DCRA, which keeps them only as a record of the contribution and does not use them for anything else.
Services involved
The site, the subscriber list, uploaded documents, and outgoing email are hosted on Cloudflare. Contributions are processed by Stripe. Sign-up and submission forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated abuse. Public review issues are on GitHub. To have your information removed, use the manage link in any email, or open an issue on the project's GitHub page.
